US Navy landing craft heading for the Baltic Sea

The landing ships of the US Navy headed to the Baltic Sea.

A few hours ago, the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) amphibious assault ship and the USS Gunston Hall (LSD-44) landing dock ship headed for the Baltic Sea. It is known that before that, US Navy warships were in the waters of the Norwegian Sea, however, their visit to the Baltic Sea itself was a rather big surprise.

As journalists from the Avia.pro news agency found out, the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) amphibious assault ship and the USS Gunston Hall (LSD-44) landing dock ship may initially head towards Poland. At the same time, it is possible that NATO weapons are on board, which will subsequently be transferred to Ukraine. However, at the moment there are no official statements from the command of the US Navy in this regard.

The appearance of two landing warships in the Baltic Sea at once caused a number of concerns, especially against the background of the alleged entry into NATO of two more countries. This does not exclude the possibility that after the visit to Poland, the ships may also go to Finland to station NATO contingent here.

The high activity of NATO near the Russian borders causes some concern, however, the expansion of NATO, due to the entry into the Alliance of two more countries - Sweden and Finland, poses a much greater danger to Russia.
