In Buryatia, they said goodbye to the tank biathlon world champion, who died in Ukraine.

Today, in the Ivolginsky district of Buryatia, servicemen Bato Basanov, who glorified Russia in the Tank Biathlon and became the world champion in 2021, said goodbye with honors. According to the Russian edition "Moscow Komsomol”, the serviceman died during a special operation.

In 2021, Bato Basanov was a participant in the All-Russian tank biathlon competitions, where, thanks to his professionalism, the team was able to get the world champion title, and although the tank gunner himself was born in 1996, he had tremendous experience in tank combat.

According to the Moskovsky Komsomolets publication, a farewell memorial service took place in the Ivolginskaya secondary school a few hours ago. At the same time, it is noted that the Russian tanker Bato Basanov was awarded the Order of Courage posthumously.

It is noted that Basanov died on March 14, 2022, while performing a combat mission, however, no details on this are currently given.
