'NEW GLASS CEILING'

Biden executive order pushing for transgender inclusion in sports SLAMMED by critics for ‘erasing women’

PRESIDENT Joe Biden is being accused of erasing women after he signed an executive order that critics think forces schools to include transgender athletes in women’s sports.

The Democrat who called for unity during his inaugural address sparked controversy the same day when he signed the executive order intended to fight discrimination.

However, some opponents believe it will force schools to include transgender athletes in girls’ sports and put cisgender peers at a disadvantage.

The executive order is titled, “Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation.”

“Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports,” it states.

"It is the policy of my administration to prevent and combat discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation.”

Erielle Davidson, a senior policy analyst at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America, called it a “sad day for women’s sports.”

“Women must compete against biological males at the risk of injury and loss of title, thanks to a new Biden executive order,” Davidson tweeted.

“Don’t ever tell me this is 'pro-woman.' It's not. It's destructive and malicious.”

Meanwhile, journalist Abigail Shrier opined that Biden had unilaterally eviscerated women’s sports.

“Any educational institution that receives federal funding must admit biologically-male athletes to women's teams, women's scholarships, etc,” she explained.

“A new glass ceiling was just placed over girls.”

Enough critics slammed the executive order that the hashtag #BidenErasedWomen began trending on Twitter.

But transgender rights activists argued that Biden’s order was forging more inclusion.

“I see #BidenErasedWomen trending so seems like a good time to remind everyone that trans people have been around in every recorded culture,” transgender writer Paris Lees tweeted.

“Biden has simply said that he's not going to allow people like me to be discriminated against for using female toilets, as we've always done.”

President Donald Trump was against including transgender female athletes in women’s sports and even threatened to pull funding from schools that enacted such policies.

Furthermore, the Trump administration supported a law in Idaho that barred transgender students who identify as female from participating in girls teams at public schools and colleges.

Idaho was the first and only state to enact such a policy.
