Twitter is furious after filmmaker Daniel Shravan advises women to 'carry condoms', 'cooperate with rapists'

Daniel Shravan on rapes: Filmmaker Daniel Shravan took to social media to advise women to "cooperate with rapists" to avoid being murdered. The Twitterverse slammed him left, right and centre for his words.

At a time when the nation is crippling with horrifying rape and murder cases, filmmaker Daniel Shravan's remarks have angered the netizens to no end. The filmmaker recently took to social media and expressed his opinion on the rape cases that have concerned the entire nation. In a detailed post, that has now been deleted, the filmmaker said that instead of calling for help or dialling the police, "women should carry condoms for protection and cooperate with rapists, so as to avoid being murdered". 

In the same post, Shravan also wrote that the government should "legalise rape without violence scheme" and educate girls on rape. 

A part of his post read, "It is foolishness that Killing Veerappan will control Smuggling, Killing Laden will control Terrorism. In the same way 'Nirbhaya Act' can't control 'Rape with Violence'. Especially Indian Girls should be aware of Sex Education (Carrying Condoms and Dental Dams after age of 18). Simple Logic...(sic)"

He further wrote, "When the Sexual desire is fulfilled Men wouldn't kill Women. Government should pass a Scheme something like this to control Death after Rape (sic)."

His post evoked instant backlash and many Twitter users slammed him left, right and centre for his derogatory post. 

Without mincing words, Chinmayi Sripaada tweeted, "Ideas going around. Some of this content is in Telugu. Basically the ideas these men have given is - cooperate and offer condoms to prevent murder after rape, women’s organizations are the reason for rape. Rape is not heinous, murder is."

In a strong-worded tweet, Kubbra Sait also expressed her anger and trashed the filmmaker. 

 

 

Many other social media users, who were disturbed by the filmmaker's views and ideas, took to Twitter and schooled him. Many of them suggested that the filmmaker should visit a psychiatrist. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Daniel's post hasn't gone down well with the Internet and the social media users are mincing no words when it comes to expressing their opinion on the same.
